Very happy with our new build with Keith Hay Homes. We have our house on an elevated section, we knew Keith Hay Homes have previously built transportable homes on similar sites. Thank you to Ryan, Dale and the team for our Keith Hay, holiday home build which we are enjoying and are very happy with the finished result. We found Ryan and Dale very professional throughout the build process, with great communication, keeping us well informed throughout. The weekly photos and updates were looked forward to and enjoyed. All queries have been responded to in a timely manner and issues that have arisen since have been dealt with in a timely and professional way.
Scott and his team were wonderful to work with. They were easy to communicate with and happy to address issues that came up in a timely and professional manner. Scott was calm and level headed and listened to any concerns or questions. He was a great problem solver and did what he said he'd do. Ben was very approachable and easy to talk to. He worked hard to make sure things were kept on track. Both of them worked really well as a team to look after us.

After many years of fighting to get a rebuild, we finally received an EQC payout. We needed a home to fit our large family that would fit on our very narrow section, and would meet our budget.
Keith Hay Homes were incredible at meeting those needs and helping us explore solutions that would work for us.
They exceeded all our expectations around finding a plan that would work - we chose a 5 bedroom transportable house, with a bathroom (bath included) and ensuite. We were able to make changes to suit us, the kitchen was modified to fit a larger bench, and changed to fit our larger appliances our family needed. We were able to choose a tiled splash back and upgrade the cupboard handles too, which really helped our house feel more like home.
The building process was easy, and we loved the weekly visits to the building yard watching our house develop. There were delays due to circumstances beyond Keith Hay Homes control, but we were kept informed at every step of the way.
Ashlee was an absolute star as our first contact with Keith Hay. She was so friendly and warm in helping us choose our house, the layout and colours. Next came Ryan as our project manager. He was amazingly calm, friendly and always available for any question or issue we had regarding the build. Raoul also was a stand out team member, professional, friendly and knowledgeable, and fixed any issues that needed resolving once we had moved in.
Our home far exceeds any expectations we had. We went into the process wanting an affordable home that our family could move into as quickly as possible, and didn’t really think beyond that. We now have a beautiful home, that fits us perfectly with stunning attention to detail. We could never have achieved this without Keith Hay Homes, and encourage others to use them for their dream homes too.
Keith Hay Homes Hamilton built my transportable 3 bedroom home and I am extremely pleased with the finished result. From the start of the whole process I felt really confident because the Hamilton staff were listening to me, and were prepared to go to all lengths to accommodate my wish-list and specific requests. I love my new home and it is just what I wanted. It has exceeded my expectations and I want to thank Rhys, Bruce and all the team.
STANDING THE TEST OF TIME
It was an easy decision for us to go with a Keith Hay home 20 years ago.
We had never “built” a house before, so went looking at display homes to get some ideas and see what our options were. Much to our surprise, some companies didn’t really want to spend any time with us and some who were happy to talk, wanted a deposit almost before we sat down.
Our Keith Hay representative, spent time with us, showing us how we could adapt their standard plans to suit our section and ideas. We also didn’t want to have escalating costs, so the set price was a real bonus. The only extras along the way were alterations we requested.
To maximise our view the kitchen and a bedroom were swapped, and floor to ceiling doors and windows added. Our house is warm and spacious and best of all, in 20 years we have not had to do any repairs, there are no crackers in joins or the ceilings. I have just repainted inside in the last year and our house looks as good as it did when we first moved in.
I am very happy to recommend Keith Hay Homes. We get so many compliments on ours.

I cannot thank you guys enough. From the start to the very finish it was easy. You guys had our dreams and visions and turned them into reality. Walking into our new house on Friday and seeing all the plans the colours we had chosen on our section was surreal. From day one Liam Thankyou, you really make building a house a home just with the little tips and points I hadn’t thought of with having young kids making the most of small spaces. You made making changes to plans, communication so easy you helped me when things weren’t quite going to plan with the other avenues of building. Also thanks Reece as much as we didn’t communicate much just in Liam’s absents I know you played a big role in the background. Bruce your a legend hanging around right until the end tieing up the loose ends to ensure we got to spend the long weekend celebrating the house and my birthday and it was an epic one. Keith Hay are very very lucky to have people like yourselves working for them and I’m sure there’s many others who contributed and built our house We just want to say THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU!!!!!!
We would like to say a big thank you to Leigh and Dale and the rest of the team at Keith Hay Homes Christchurch!! As first time home owners we approached Keith Hay with a lot of questions, but Leigh and the team were excellent in helping us sort out what we wanted. We couldn't be more happy with our new home, and were delighted with the quick turn around from the planning stage to move in day.
We are based in a small town in rural Canterbury and had struggled to find a builder who could complete the project in a suitable timeframe and to our desired specifications. The simplicity and efficiency of Keith Hay Homes' system was therefore well suited to our project.
Through the ups and downs of the consenting and building process, Leigh made sure to keep us well informed as efficiently as possible which we really appreciated.
Keith Hay Homes have just completed a 75 m2 minor dwelling for me. I settled on Keith Hay homes after considerable research comparing their offering to those of 5-6 other companies. The research also included visiting their yard to see dwellings under construction and a couple of drive-byes to see some of their builds. I came to the decision to engage them on the basis of the quality of the product for the cost. I thought Keith Hay had the best specs for the price compared to what else I had looked at.
While engaging a company on the basis of what they promise and cost are important considerations, it’s not until the actual work starts you come to understand the people, the company and see the build coming together. With regards to the people I have been immensely impressed by Leigh and Dale with regards to their customer service, attention to detail and excellent communication. I would rank communication as one of the greatest strengths that was brought to the process. This meant I was kept well informed of the progress, options on fittings etc.
In the end, they delivered a dwelling that is just beautiful and fit for purpose all within the promised timeframe and on budget.

We recently purchased three new houses from Keith hay Homes and would like to comment on the purchase and construction process.
We required houses for rental income. We contacted several companies and decided to go with KHH because of their proven house designs and good reputation. We were undecided at that stage as to whether we should construct two or three houses. The KHH catalogue was useful in identifying the various sizes and options that were available. KHH provided a price for each of the house types in the catalogue and the sales team provided useful assistance in evaluating the potential rental return on 2-bedroom versus 3-bedroom houses. This allowed us to select the appropriate house size and establish a budget for the project. The KHH team also assisted us in the selection of appropriate colour schemes for the exteriors and interiors of the houses.
The sales team also discussed the options of building on site, or prefabrication at Drury and transporting to site. We settled on the prefabrication option based on improved quality control and minimised construction noise on site.
We were able to view the houses during construction and observe the fitout at the KHH yard. We requested some minor variations to the standard design, focussed on improving the ventilation systems in the kitchens and bathrooms. KHH readily accommodated these variations.
The houses were delivered to site over a one-week period. Access between existing houses at the front of the property was tight, but the move went as planned with no damage to existing structures. Piles were installed under the houses and the houses were lowered into position.
Internal surfaces suffered very little damage during the relocation. The only noticeable movement was between the scotias and the ceilings. KHH allowed sufficient time for the houses to stabilise on site before filling the gaps.
KHH provided us with regular updates during the building process and overall the quality of construction was up to the standard that we expected.
We would recommend KHH to anyone requiring a good quality home at a reasonable price.
Due to a terrible storm in April 2017, my home was unfortunately destroyed. My family and I approached Keith Hay Homes. They were very supportive and led us through the whole procedure - demolition of the old home, preparation of the section and the whole process of council consents etc. Now I have a really beautiful home of which I am very proud. The house was completed within the promised timeframe. Great builders - really good quick workers - the Tradesmen great too. The house is well built and solid - with double glazing and good quality fixtures and fittings. The office staff happily put up with all my queries and anxieties. Now I have a fabulous home much admired by my friends and family. I chose the Raglan design and I am really glad I did. Thank you Keith Hay.

We chose Keith Hay Homes as after talking to Rhys in the Hamilton office, we decided Keith Hay Homes had house plans that suited our needs and the staff seemed very helpful and informative. We had previously called in to Lockwood and Gottage in Kopu and Skyline in Hamilton.
We are very happy with the finished house. The build was quicker than we had anticipated as there were early delays with section issues and council compliance.
Rhys Jellie was very professional and helpful throughout the whole process. He kept us informed and went out of his way to help us as we were not in the Hamilton area.

An exciting but stressful time...made so easy
What a joy to be involved with Leigh, Sarah and the team at Keith Hay Homes.
From the first visit to talk options, costs and design, to moving in, we were involved the whole way. If we couldn't get to the site each week to take photos of progress,Sarah sent pics to us, and we were made welcome when we arrived. Everyone was very approachable and friendly, and we always treated with respect, I appreciated the humour shared as it showed we were working together. I loved seeing the dates of progress of my build on the whiteboard so I knew when things were taking place. The expertise of the demolition crew and the drivers was amazing.
I was lucky enough to have Leigh standing with me as my home arrived, he understood my tears of relief and happiness.I asked for a change to my deck after the piles were down and Leigh was quick to check it was possible and the change was made.
Such an exciting but stressful time for me and my family was made so easy.

Keith Hay Homes is an institution you can trust
Last year I was fortunate enough to contemplate embarking on the building of a new transportable home through Keith Hay Homes (KHH) Te Puke.
Our home was delivered to our location along the East Coast on the 12th July 2016 and I have to say that the whole process from when I first looked at your homes on the internet until when the house was finally delivered has been nothing but pleasure and absolute satisfaction in your product and the professionalism from your staff namely; Stead Mills, Steven Farrant and Heather Borland from Te Puke.
Steven and Steve have been a joy to deal with. Right from when I first made contact with Steven, he never gave up in staying in touch with me as I had a few matters that had to be dealt with through the Maori Land Court before we were given the legal authority to begin building.
I was impressed with KHH in allowing us to vary the standard model and upgrade it into an up market style of home. I was very happy at the way the house looked upon final completion. Stead kept in contact with me by email and phone right throughout the entire build. Even though I hardly saw the house throughout the whole time (I live in Auckland and my brother in Rotorua), he kept me updated with photographs and emails of each stage of the building process.
I was also blown away about how quickly it took to build. I only went unconditional the week before Christmas and it was finished by July which is pretty incredible.
Stead came down and stayed with us for 2 nights (in our dad's family home next door) when Willcox Transport delivered the house and he fitted in really well which made it so easy for all of us.
KHH have to come back for a couple of paint touch ups and no building project will ever be without any problems but I found your company ever so obliging to resolve any issues that had arisen.
Pictures say a thousand words, so your website is excellent with lots of photos, plans and designs. The homes are affordable with the option to upgrade to whatever the owner may wish to change, but it's the small things like arranging for us to meet with a Resene Colour Consultant which can turn any basic design into something special.
I think the decision for me to choose KHH was not really so much about the price - yes it is important but price is not everything, but it's about reputation and longevity and the fact that KHH has been around since 1938 speaks for itself. Keith Hay Homes is a New Zealand institution that you can trust and are reliable knowing that they are not going to go belly up tomorrow like many other building firms and franchises that are out there.
Please pass on my thanks to your Te Puke Branch. The Bay of Plenty is a growing area and I know they will do well.
And finally thank you to Keith Hay Homes for your professionalism and for giving us a beautiful home without all the anxiety and worry that happens when you take on a big project like this.
We would recommend their services to everyone
We chose a Keith Hay Homes First Choice 105 as our new holiday home in Duvuachelle, near Akaroa. With open plan living, three beds and two bathrooms the plan offered us the accommodation we needed for our family.
We were given the peace of mind of a very competitive fixed price, which covered the build, consenting and delivery. We were given the opportunity to have input into the design and finishes. Our new home was built in the yard in Hornby. We were made very welcome when we came to inspect progress on a regular basis.
Regular payments reflected the actual progress made on site. We took delivery in mid 2017. The site works work completed professionally, despite a challenging access. The overall quality of the workmanship was very good. All making good was completed prior to the final payment being required.
The price for the finished home was exactly what we had been quoted. Likewise the finishes, fittings etc. were all as per plan. The team at Keith Hay Homes worked with us every step of the way. All in all, great value for money.
We have now had the opportunity to add the hard and soft landscaping and are very proud of our new holiday home. We would recommend their services to everyone and are looking at repeating the exercise with other members of our family.

Lavel & Ross you have both gone the extra mile, especially when I started getting cold feet or angry with the councils.
Lavel, you have taken my humour well and answered all my questions even though sometimes it has been extra work for you to find out and get back to me.
Graeme, your weekly reports and phone calls have been very much appreciated.
The two guys building the first house are friendly and pleasant to talk to.

We would certainly look to use Keith Hay Homes Horotiu again...
From start to finish we have thoroughly enjoyed our association with the team at Keith Hay Horotiu who have been nothing but helpful, approachable and communicative throughout our building journey. We met with many different builders while exploring our options, but ultimately it was the friendly, personal approach of our initial interactions that sold it to us, as well as the realistic, honest advise (no false, sugar coated timelines) and flexibility of plans.
Despite us encountering many hurdles from the Council, Rhys continued to support and work with us to gain the outcome we wanted, and was never too busy to answer our questions or review the lengthy emails and reports. And from the moment the council consents were issued and the green light to build had been given, everything was accurately time-lined out - with the house arriving on the predicted day with no delays or surprises.
The weekly progress emails (including pictures) of our build on the yard prior to delivery were awesome, and the whole family looked forward to receiving these each Friday night. Once the house was delivered and on site, Robert and his team worked efficiently to ensure code of compliance was issued within the estimated 3 weeks. We now have a beautiful, new 4 bedroom home to enjoy and we are thoroughly happy with the product. Should we ever think about building in the future we would certainly look to use Keith Hay Homes Horotiu again.

Wow, our house has arrived and finally living in it. So exciting. Steve at KHH in Bulls was very helpful in the whole process, as we were able to take out a bedroom, make the lounge bigger and change the kitchen to suit us, without being a problem. We followed the whole building process from start to finish, being able to have a look whenever, photos being sent through from Steve, and following the house over, whilst being kept in the loop.
We have already had lots of visitors and everyone has loved everything about it, especially the open plan living.
We would recommend KHH to anyone, as the service has been awesome, and nothing was ever a problem.
On an extra note, Central House movers who did the delivery were very professional in moving our house, as there was no damage and the staff were wonderful.

Proud of our new home
Making the choice to build our new home with Keith Hay presented us with a mostrewarding experience. We became a big part of the process, which turned out tobe hassle-free and thoroughly enjoyable. There were times when we must have been a pain in the neck, making last minute changes, and adding bits and piecesthat were not on the original plans, but problems were met with understanding and encouragement. So much so, that by the end of the journey we felt as though we were part of the Keith Hay family.
From the very first day when we entered the yard at Drury, it was a complete pleasure to work with Barry, Maria, and Robert. We were able to be involved every step of the way, we were always welcome at the building site, and we found their suggestions helpful and much appreciated. Barry promised to keep within our budget and he certainly delivered. Seeing our house arrive at four-thirty a.m. on a cool spring morning, was an awesome sight. We marvelled at the professionalism and skills of the men moving the house and securing it to the section. Everyone who has visited our new house have been most impressed and complimentary. We are very proud of her and are totally in love! She is learning to love us!

The Keith Hay Home survived without even a crack. After many subsequent aftershocks a minor crack developed in the Gibboard over one door, which Keith Hay Homes repaired free of charge. Whilst our beach house was being built at your Paraparaumu yard we have been dealing with Leanne on all aspects of the building process, from arranging permits to deciding on what wardrobe doors to choose, color schemes, right through to what type of lights to get.
